Dear EPU members,
March 7th will witness the premiere of a new event for EPU which we secretly hope to make a new annual tradition: the beer cantus! This is basically a large drinking game that features a lot of singing, a lot of beer, and a lot of fun. For 15 euros we provide you with beer and all you’ll need to have a truly legendary evening (the amount will be withdrawn from your bank account). Non EPU-members are also welcome to join, so feel free to bring friends; they will have to pay 17 euros in cash at the start of the event. It lasts from 20:00 to 22:00, and afterwards we will probably continue our drunken antics elsewhere in the city. You really don’t want to miss out on this.
Io vivat! The DrinksCie
Fancy a break from studying? Well our Salsa event is the perfect chance to unwind with your fellow EPU members!
On the 10th of November, for just three euros per person, EPU members have the chance to learn some Salsa, access to cheap alcohol and a night off studying.

Is it the extravagant business-tycoon Donald Trump, or the experienced Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who is going to be the next president of the United States?
On the 21th of October, America-expert Koen Petersen will visit us to broaden our perspective on the elections. Koen Petersen is a political scientist, specialized in American politics and history. He is known for his critical analyses in national tv-shows like Pauw and EenVandaag. He is also author of the book ‘Einddoel Witte Huis’, in which he discusses the American elections.
The event is organized by the JOVD Groningen in cooperation with E Pluribus Unum and Lijst Sterk. It takes place in the beautiful Heerenhuis. Everyone is welcome from 19:30, and the event will start at 20:00. Save the date, because it is going to be a very interesting evening! Feel free to bring your friends with you and we hope to see you on the 21th!
Note: The event is going to be in English.
You can buy Koen Petersen’s recent book on the American elections at the following website: https://www.bol.com/nl/p/

Dear First Years,
On the 4th of October you will have your first Theories of Cultures I exam and EPU wants you to be well prepared for this! Therefore, we have scheduled a workshop in collaboration with your teachers on Friday the 30th of September from 14.00-15.00. This workshop will give you the ability to ask any questions you might still have to both your teacher as well as older year students who have already finished the course.
We ask you to send in any questions you might already have beforehand to firstname.lastname@example.org or put them in the sign up form, so we can already prepare some main topics to discuss. The workshop is open to everyone, but we ask you to sign up so we will know how many we can expect.
We hope to see you all on Friday!

My name is Jenna and I’m 19 years old. Hopefully, I will be a second year AS student next year (I’d better be haha, being a future board member). I’m the new Commissioner of Internal Affairs and I’m extreeeemely honered that I got appointed to have this position! It’s gonna be a challenge to do it as great as my predecessors. Next year will be a very busy year for me as head of the committees but it’s a great opportunity to get to know all of you. My mission is to get as much people applying for committees as possible, as I personally really believe that the key to becoming an active member inside the study association is by joining a committee. It’s hard to believe but another academic year has almost passed. A year that started with the introduction camp and then was riddled with essays, complex theories, exchanges, exams, fun EPU events, and for some even their bachelor thesis. Before everyone goes home or on vacation EPU will organize the annual End of the Year BBQ at the Hoornsemeer on the 24th of June. Read more →
